In the new production process, spherical particles for the subsequent synthesis of lithium iron phosphate are obtained by microwave spray drying instead of exposure to hot air. The cathode material obtained in this way has an increased service life and allows for the design of lithium-ion batteries with higher energy capacity. In addition, the alternative drying method saves electricity and time in production.
